This course is designed as an introduction to immunology using examples from the everyday life. The course discusses fundamentals of immunology, the composition and functionality of the immune system and the resulting biological phenomena.
The course focuses mainly on:
- Components and structure of the immune system
- Immune cells (e.g., granulocytes, phagocytes, lymphocytes)
- Innate immunity (functionality, detection and effector mechanisms)
- Adaptive immunity (functionality, B- and T-lymphocytes, antibodies )
- Inflammation
- Infection and immunity
- Basics of vaccination
- Hyperreactivity of the immune system (incl. allergy, autoimmunity)
No special previous knowledge is required for this course.
Duration: 1 day (beginning: 8:30 a.m. - end: 3:30 p.m.)
Course fee: € 395,- (plus 19% VAT) incl. work materials, course documentation, confirmation of participation including detailed course contents.
Optional short examination: On demand, a short exam can be taken subsequently to the course. The examination fee is € 35,00 (plus 19% VAT) and is not included in the participation fee.
The examination will be held after the end oft he course (duration approx. 20 minutes). Registration for the examination is possible together with booking the course or also during the course.
